How do you fell a tree? Is my property at risk?
We take safety very seriously and follow professional standarads to ensure no property damage. There are no shouts of “Timber” or whole trees falling flat–our qualified climber starts by methodically tying off every branch and clearing the tree in small sections from the top down. When a limb is severed, we ease it down to control and minimize impact. Eventually we will have enough sections removed to sever it at the base and grind down the stump so you’d never know the tree was there.
Do I have to clear the debris, or will you haul it for me?
We include clearing as part of the job! Don’t worry about how to handle clean up – our goal is to leave your plot cleaner than we found it, so all leftover debris will be hauled off when we leave.
Can I keep the wood from the fallen tree?
That depends on the state of the tree. If there’s any sign of rot or fungi, especially if it’s dangerous plants like poison ivy or mistletoe, we recommend letting it go. But if you have otherwise decent hardwoods like oak, elm, pecan, or mesquite, we will gladly leave behind the best cuts. Thinking of keeping it for firewood and need help splitting it?
